Mr. Ranjan De Silva

Mr. Ranjan De Silva started his career as an English teacher in 1984. He professionally qualified as an English teacher from the Teachers’ Training College Negombo. Being a dedicated teacher with many talents he was promoted as a principal in his very young age of 26 .and served in rural areas for about 15 years . He gave leadership to a few underprivileged schools and developed them as effective learning centers with the help of community. Mr Ranjan got his bachelor of education degree at the National Institute of Education Sri Lanka. He is also a Diploma holder for Education Management. In 2001 he got a scholarship to India and followed course at National Institute of Educational Planning and in 2003 another scholarship to Canada and broadened his capacities and experiences at Ontario Principals Council . Mr. Ranjan works as a resource person for both provincial and central Educational authorities. At present he is the principal of Galmuruwa Herth Gunaratne high school which has been selected by The National Institute of Education as one of the best ten schools in Sri Lanka which practices Primary Educational Reforms effectively. The same school has been nominated as a model Child Friendly School by the Ministry of Education and UNICEF Ranjan De Silva is the author of Tharu Man Peth On the way of star pattern which promote teachers’ role. He had been written science articles and stories for” MUTHUWELA” newspaper for children published by Thothanna. He gave his participation to Thothanna for research paper named The Role of School Text Books multi social reconciliation. Mr. Ranjan Contribute his capacity to other schools as a trainer for student leadership. He contribute to Thothanna too as a resource person for child leadership.
