Mrs. Matilda Adikaram

Mrs. Matilda Adikaram (Board Member) Mrs Matilda Adikaram contributed her commitment to the society first as a member of Service International Sri Lanka in which she still join as a vice president. In 1977 she joined the department of Education as a primary teacher. Later she professionally qualified through completing a distance teacher training course. In 1993 She got a BA degree from University Of Kalaniya Sri Lanka. In 1994 She passed the education administration service Exam but she decided to continue her task as a primary teacher. She got married with Mr. Samson Jayasinghe who devoted his life for the people’s movements through Peace Service in Thalawa. Matilda also supported voluntarily to Peace Service throughout the 3 decade when Mr. Jayasinge led it as the National secretary. As a teacher she contributed the Catholic Teacher Teams for few decade. Throughout her life she has committed and devoted her life as a volunteer social activist and a peace worker. Mrs Matilda joins Regional Radio; Rajarata F.M as a singer and a poetess. She is the secretary of Padinadiya; the forum of poets in Anuradhapura.She has authored for two children’s books which were published by Thothanna publishing house. One of those books has been translated into Tamil and English.
